This page states how articles here are researched, drafted, reviewed and corrected, and who pays for the site. If any of it stops being true, this page changes first.

Who publishes this

This library is published by Super Mech Industries, a gear coupling manufacturer in Ahmedabad, India. That relationship is stated on every page and is not incidental: a manufacturer has better access to failure evidence, dimensional data and field service history than an independent publisher does, and that access is the reason this site can carry material that general engineering sites cannot.

It also creates an obvious interest, which is why the rest of this page exists. The test we hold ourselves to is simple: an article is written so that it remains useful to a reader who buys their coupling from a competitor.

How articles are researched

Standards articles are written against the published standards documents themselves. Where an article discusses a clause, the clause and its revision year are cited so the reader can go to the source. Standards are copyrighted: we explain what a clause requires and what it means for a specification, and we do not reproduce their tables, figures or text.

Where a figure comes from the manufacturer's own engineering, service or quality records rather than a published document, the article says so. Where a figure is general engineering practice rather than a standard requirement, the article says that too — those are different classes of claim and are not presented interchangeably.

Competitors' websites and marketing literature are not used as sources. Content recycled from other suppliers is worthless to a reader who has already read it elsewhere.

How articles are drafted

Drafting is assisted by AI tooling, working from source material assembled by the editorial team. No draft is published as generated. Every technical claim, figure and worked example is checked by a person against the source before it appears, and the named individuals below are accountable for what is published regardless of how the first draft was produced.

We state this because it is true of a great deal of technical publishing now, and because a reader is entitled to know how the text in front of them was made.

Technical review

Independent technical review is being established. A qualified mechanical engineer will review each article before publication and will be credited by name and credential on the article itself, alongside its publication and last-updated dates.

Until that reviewer is engaged, no article on this site carries a review credit. If an article shows no reviewer, no engineer has signed it off — the absence is the disclosure. We would rather name nobody than name someone who has not read the work.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to know. Report it to editor@globalgearcouplings.com, quoting the page and, where you can, the clause or figure in dispute.

Substantive corrections are made in the article itself, and the last-updated date on the page changes to reflect it. We do not silently delete or rewrite a claim that was published and turned out to be wrong; where the correction changes the meaning of a section, the change is noted in the article.

Sponsorship and independence

No article on this site is sponsored, paid for, or placed by a third party. There is no paid link placement and no affiliate arrangement. The site carries no advertising.

Comparison articles state where a gear coupling is the wrong choice for a duty. A comparison that concludes the publisher's own product wins every time is marketing, and is not worth a reader's time.

Links to Super Mech Industries's commercial site are clearly labelled as such and are used where a reader looking for a product, drawing or quotation would genuinely want them.

What this site is not

This is reference documentation, not a design authority. Nothing here substitutes for the governing standard revision named in your purchase order, for the coupling manufacturer's own rating data, or for the judgement of the engineer responsible for the machine. Verify every selection against the source before you commit it to a drawing.
